The Resettlement GIS and Data Officer oversees field data collection, spatial analysis, mapping support, and data integrity for all project resettlement and livelihood restoration activities. The role serves as the custodian of both physical and digital resettlement archives in Afungi.
Key Responsibilities:
Data QA/QC & Verification: Conduct regular inspections and random field verifications of third-party data collection; ensure strict adherence to business protocols, data integrity, and QA/QC procedures.
GIS & Mapping Support: Provide spatial analysis, custom mapping, and survey support for resettlement and livelihood restoration teams; supervise field investigations for new physical/economic displacement claims.
Data Custodianship & Equipment Management: Manage, back up, and store all resettlement records in the central project repository; oversee specialized field equipment (GPS units, plotters, cameras, printers).
Reporting & Training: Produce progress maps, spatial reports, and technical briefs; deliver training on field data collection methods and IP mobilization as required.
Requisitos
Educational Background: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Data Management, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in social geospatial data management and spatial analysis.
Proven understanding of compensation processes linked to land acquisition, resettlement, and data workflow requirements.
Technical Skills & Software:
Hands-on proficiency with database and GIS software, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS SDE, FileMaker, ODBC, ISOMETRIX, and Borealis.
Strong capabilities in spatial analysis, database QA/QC, and field survey equipment management.
Languages: Full fluency in both Portuguese and English (written and spoken).
