Under the direct supervision of the SRH Specialist, the UN Volunteer Programme Assistant will provide programmatic and administrative support for the development, implementation, and monitoring of UNFPA’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Humanitarian Response portfolio in Mozambique. The position supports key projects, including national family planning service expansion (FCDO-funded) and the HIMNA program in Niassa province.
- KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS & DUTIES
Programme Management Support: Support project planning, budget analysis, regular monitoring, and reporting on SRH interventions. - Assist with fund allocations in RRP, review electronic Funding Authorization and Certificate of Expenditures (e-FACE), and manage logistics/meetings.
- Procurement & Operations: Initiate procurement requests for emergency commodities, follow up on procurement and delivery/distribution processes, and ensure compliance with UNFPA rules.
- Monitoring, Data & Reporting: Support data analysis to identify trends, vulnerabilities, and response gaps.
- Compile program progress reports, humanitarian situation reports, donor updates, and document lessons learned.
- Resource Mobilization & Partnerships: Assist in developing new proposals, gathering inputs for donor reporting, taking minutes during donor meetings, and organizing donor agreements and milestones.
Requisitos
- Eligibility & Nationality: Candidate must be an international candidate (non-Mozambican national). Special Condition:
- This position is funded by Switzerland; only candidates pre-selected by Switzerland (cinfo) are eligible to apply. Age eligibility: 18 – 80.
- Education: Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Human Rights, International Law, International Development Studies, Public Health, or related fields with specialized knowledge in SRHR.
- Experience: Demonstrated interest and/or experience (ideally 1 year / minimum 1–3 months) in Sexual and Reproductive Health, Maternal Health, or humanitarian emergency response.
- Previous volunteer or cross-cultural experience is highly regarded.
- Skills: Proficiency in RRP/e-FACE systems or project management workflows, data analysis, report writing, and Microsoft Office tools. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills across multicultural settings.
- Languages: English (Fluent – Required); Portuguese (Basic – Desirable).
